Yoga Jyoti offers a Teacher Training course in Hyderabad consisting of over 300 hours
of intensive study and practice over a period of one year.

The course content comprises of:
In-depth study of:
Theory and Application of the various tools of yoga
viz., postures (asana), breathing practice
(Pranayama), meditation (dhyanam), visualization
(bhavana) & chanting (adhyayanam)
and
Yoga Philosophy as presented in the Yoga Sutra of
Patanjali.

About the Trainer
Smt. Saraswathi Vasudevan is committed to sharing
her experience and knowledge of yoga that she has
acquired over the past 17 years of her life in this
path.
Saraswathi holds two Post Graduate degrees (in
Nutrition and Psychology) from the University of
Madras. She completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga from the reputed
KYM institute of Yoga Studies in Chennai where she worked and continued
to study for 17 years till recently. As the head of Research
Department at KYM, she has also spearheaded an important Government
sponsored research study on Yoga and Epilepsy. She has played a significant
role in evolving research-based models for therapy at the Institute.
Much of her training and work involved specializing in individualized
yoga therapy where the unique needs and abilities of every student is
respected and addressed through a comprehensive, holistic and scientific
approach to healing and well being.
Saraswathi has been teaching and training yoga teachers both within
India and abroad. She is a visiting faculty for the Yoga Teacher Training
Programs conducted by Yoga Therapy Toronto, Canada. She is also trained
in the art of facilitation and works as a Senior Associate of Eternale
Learning, a facilitators' training organization based in Pune.
Through this training program, she hopes to establish and nourish a beautiful
yoga community in Hyderabad that will eventually spread its light to
the rest of the world� and serve the community and the world at large
through yoga.
Other resource persons for this training program will be invited from a
pool of leading teachers and practitioners in their respective fields, those
who share the vision and commitment of Yoga Jyoti.
Course Schedule
The course will The Course will be spread over a period of one year and divided into modules of 2 weeks each.
Participants are expected to engage in a minimum of 20 hours of group
study/activities/project work.
After 5 months of training, participants will undergo internship and will
be expected to teach under guidance and supervision for a minimum of
10 hours before the end of the training period.
Personal Practice sessions with Mentor
Since personal practice is an integral and indispensable part of becoming
and being a yoga teacher, regular one-to-one sessions with the mentor
are a compulsory part of the training. Each student is expected to meet
his or her respective mentors for at least 10 sessions over the period of
one year. The course fee does not cover the cost of these sessions.

Group Size
It is proposed that a minimum of 12 and a
maximum of 25 participants will be accepted
in this program. In the event that we receive
less than 12 confirmed registrations, this
training may be postponed.
We would like to proceed with a committed
group of students where each student is guaranteed
to receive sufficient personal attention
from the trainer and mentor.

Admission requirements
Applicant must have a sincere desire to
help him/herself and others through yoga.
Applicants must be willing to commit to
daily practice of yoga as designed and
guided by their teacher/mentor.
They must be mentally and emotionally
stable and also possess reasonably good
communication skill in English.
Participants are expected to have a reasonable
level of good health to cope with
the rigors of the training but there is no
requirement for particular levels of
strength and flexibility to do yoga postures.

flexible mind
